We believe in empowerment so adults living with mental health diagnoses can pursue personal goals and play a meaningful role as co-workers, colleagues, family members and friends.  It boils down to “choice”. At PHOENIX House, a symbiotic relationship exists between member choice and the need to be needed. Member choice is an ethical and instrumental practice that flows logically throughout an organization that espouses member employment as a direct outcome. The power “to carve out your own future” or “ride your own horse” embodies exciting prospects that are well supported by empirical evidence.
